NWEP Meeting, Tue Sept 13

Summer isn’t over, but for most of us, the vacationing part of it is! Time to get back to work, to school to volunteering!

The New Westminster Environmental Partners will be holding a Regular Meeting on September 13, 2011, in the Auditorium (downstairs) at the New Westminster Public Library (716 Sixth Ave).

This is our once-every-two-months-or-so meeting open to all members and the general public to see what is happening in New Westminster’s Environment. We will have an agenda and will get through the “business” quickly, giving people lots of time to discuss issues, concerns, ideas, and initiatives. Have an idea for making New Westminster more sustainable? Bring it to the meeting, and you might others willing to help make it happen. Not sure how to help out? Come and hear about the initiatives that are going on, and see if you find a role. Just want to be a fly on the wall? You are welcome as well.

A more detailed Agenda will follow: but we will be discussing these upcoming events:

September 25th: Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-up, South Shore of Queensborough – Volunteers needed!

September 28th: New Westminster Doc Fest Fundraiser at the Heritage Grille!

October 21st –22nd: New Westminster Doc Fest! The NWEP are helping with the organization of New Westminster’s first annual Documentary Film fest: We need a few more volunteers to help out!

November 19: Municipal Election Day: the NWEP are strictly non-partisan, we like to reach out to all candidates of all political stripes. How will we engage them this year? Ideas?

If you want something added to the agenda, please send to me, or just bring it to the meeting ,and we will squeeze as much in as we can!
